Botpress pricing starts at $0 for Free, while Plus costs $150 per month billed annually for 250 conversations and Team costs $750 for 1,500. Extra conversations come in packs of 100 at $65 on Plus or $50 on Team. Your total can also include AI spend overages, storage and the work of building and maintaining your bot.

These prices come from Botpress's public pricing page, checked October 21, 2026. Monthly billing costs more than the annual rates shown here. If your goal is answering questions on your website, compare the Botpress alternative for business websites before budgeting for custom flows.

Plus includes $25 of AI usage and Team includes $150. Removing Botpress branding from webchat starts with Plus. Enterprise offers dedicated support, an uptime SLA, security review, custom storage and a voice channel. Ask for a quote based on the requirements your business actually has.

Unlimited agents means you can build multiple bots without an agent count limit on Plus. It does not mean unlimited conversations. An agency still needs to budget for usage across its deployed bots, alongside the time spent configuring each client's workflows.

What counts as a conversation and how overage packs work

A Botpress conversation is any exchange with at least two messages from the end user in the billing month. The definition counts user participation, rather than each individual bot reply. A visitor asking a question and then sending a follow-up meets that threshold.

Plus overage packs contain 100 conversations for $65, equivalent to $0.65 each. Team packs contain 100 for $50, equivalent to $0.50 each. You buy capacity in packs, so a forecast slightly above your allowance still needs a complete pack in the budget.

Free has no top-ups or overages. It is fine for testing a bot, but unsuitable for a live business site that needs room for more conversations. For a paid plan, estimate the gap between expected conversations and the included allowance, then round that gap up to whole packs.

How AI spend works

Every conversation includes $0.10 of AI usage covered by Botpress. Plus lists $25 of included AI usage alongside its 250 conversations, and Team lists $150 alongside its 1,500. Keep the conversation allowance and AI spend visible in your estimate because expensive model usage can add a separate charge.

At 95% of the AI spend limit, a $10 credit grant is bought automatically at cost. Those credit grants do not expire monthly. This mechanism does not apply to Free. Paid plan buyers should account for automatic credit purchases when deciding how much budget to reserve.

A heavy model or a demanding workflow can consume more AI usage than the covered amount. Test the actual model and flow you intend to deploy, then review its spend. Staying inside the conversation allowance does not by itself guarantee that the subscription is your entire bill.

Worked monthly totals

These examples use annual subscription rates expressed as monthly equivalents. They assume AI usage stays within the covered allowance and exclude optional storage and development. They illustrate the billing arithmetic rather than predict your traffic or quote a monthly billing rate.

ScenarioArithmeticMonthly equivalent
250 conversations on Plus$150 + no extra packs = $150$150
600 conversations on Plus$150 + 4 packs × $65 = $150 + $260$410
2,000 conversations on Team$750 + 5 packs × $50 = $750 + $250$1,000

At 600 conversations, Plus needs 350 above its included 250. Four packs supply 400, bringing available capacity to 650. At 2,000 conversations, Team needs 500 above its included 1,500, so five packs cover the gap exactly.

AI spend overages come on top for heavy models. Annual billing also affects when you pay, even though these comparisons express the subscription as a monthly amount. Use the same billing basis when comparing these totals with another vendor.

Hidden costs to budget for

Building flows takes work even when the builder is visual. Someone needs to map questions, connect systems, test failure paths and update the bot when business rules change. You either do that yourself or pay a developer. No development fee belongs in an estimate until you know the scope.

The storage add-on costs $40 per month on Plus and Team. It includes 100,000 table rows, 1GB of vector storage and 10GB of file storage. Check your storage requirements before treating that add-on as necessary, then include it if your planned setup needs it.

White label webchat, meaning removal of Botpress branding, starts with Plus. Free therefore does not meet a requirement for an unbranded widget. Monthly billing also costs more than the annual subscription rates above, so check the billing choice before approving a purchase.

When bots call APIs or run actions, include permission checks and blocking prompt injection on agents that call your APIs in the implementation scope so customer messages cannot authorize unintended work. Testing those boundaries and maintaining integrations takes time alongside writing answers.

Botpress vs a flat-plan website chatbot

Botpress fits custom bots across channels such as WhatsApp and Slack, especially when developers want full flow control. ChatBotWidget fits a business website bot trained on your pages, with no flows to build. Its flat subscription includes allowances, so compare the units as carefully as the prices.

ChatBotWidget Business costs $99 monthly or $49 per month billed yearly, with 1,500 AI replies, 1,500 action calls and 3 seats. Multi site costs $299 monthly or $149 per month billed yearly. Agency costs $799 monthly or $399 per month billed yearly and includes white label.

A reply is a bot message, so several replies can belong to one conversation. Do not equate 700 replies with 700 Botpress conversations. Compare your expected answer length and action usage against the ChatBotWidget prices and included allowances, and review the customer service chatbot guide for the website workflow.

Which plan fits which business

Choose Free to test Botpress, Plus when you need custom flows and can work within its seats and conversation budget, and Team when its volume and unlimited seats fit your operation. Enterprise suits requirements such as a contractual uptime SLA or security review. Higher tiers need a reason beyond expecting more traffic.

For a business website, start with the questions customers ask and the actions they need. If website answers, bookings, CRM leads, tickets and handoff cover the job, review the Botpress alternative for business websites. ChatBotWidget has no free plan, but offers a one-time live demo without an account.

For other billing models, compare Tidio pricing and Lyro costs, Chatbase pricing and message credits and Intercom Fin pricing and seat costs. Use your own expected usage in each calculation before choosing.

Botpress pricing FAQ

How much does Botpress cost per month?

Botpress costs $0 on Free, $150 per month on Plus or $750 on Team with annual billing. Enterprise has custom pricing. Monthly billing costs more. Plus includes 250 conversations and Team includes 1,500, with conversation packs, AI spend overages and optional storage affecting the total.

Is Botpress free?

Yes, Botpress has a Free plan with 100 conversations, 3 bots and 3 seats. It has no top-ups or overages. That makes it fine for testing, but unsuitable for a live business site needing capacity beyond the allowance. Branding removal starts with the paid Plus plan.

What is a conversation in Botpress?

A Botpress conversation is any exchange with at least two messages from the end user in the billing month. It is not a charge for each bot reply. Use that definition when forecasting volume, since a reply allowance on another product measures a different unit of usage.

What happens when you run out of conversations on Botpress?

Paid plans offer extra conversations in packs of 100, priced at $65 on Plus and $50 on Team. Free has no top-ups or overages. Budget for whole packs above your allowance, and check AI spend separately because extra conversation capacity does not eliminate possible AI usage charges.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Botpress for a business website?

Yes, ChatBotWidget starts at $49 monthly or $24 per month billed yearly for 700 AI replies. Business adds actions at $99 monthly or $49 per month billed yearly. Replies differ from conversations, so compare expected usage. It suits website support, while Botpress fits custom multi-channel bots.

Does Botpress charge for AI usage?

Yes, AI usage beyond the covered allowance can cost extra. Every conversation includes $0.10 of AI usage covered by Botpress. At 95% of the AI spend limit, a $10 credit grant is bought automatically at cost. Grants do not expire monthly, and this mechanism excludes Free.
