How the AI chatbot for your website works
You enter your website address, the bot reads your pages into a knowledge base, you design the widget and paste one script tag. From then on it answers visitors from your content, cites its sources and passes the hard questions to your team.
- Enter your website address

- Design the widget and set its goals
- 4 Connect the actions it may run
- 5 Paste one script tag on your site
- 6 Monitor and improve every week
Step 1
Enter your website address
Type your domain when you create a bot. That is all the input it needs to start. You can try the same step in the demo on the homepage before you have an account.

Step 2
Let it read your site into a knowledge base
The bot follows your sitemap and links, reads each page and splits the text into passages it can search. Add files (PDF, DOCX, TXT) and short text notes for what is not on the website.
Pages are added up to the limit of your plan, and the site is re-read weekly on Site and daily on Business and up. Answers come only from these sources, which is what keeps a website chatbot from inventing policies.
Step 3
Design the widget and set its goals
Pick the colour, title, greeting, quick replies, position and tone. Turn on support, sales or both, and choose when the bot should hand a visitor to a person. All options are on the chatbot widget page.
Step 4
Connect the actions it may run
On Business and up, add actions such as create ticket, save lead to CRM, book a meeting or call your API. Each one has a line telling the bot when to use it. See how each one works on AI chatbot actions.
Step 5
Paste one script tag on your site
Copy the tag from the Install page and paste it before the closing body tag, or into the footer code field of your website builder. The panel confirms when the widget is first seen.

Step 6
Monitor and improve every week
Read conversations, handle handoffs in the inbox, and open the list of questions the bot could not answer. Add the missing page or note once and the gap is closed.
| Where | What you check |
|---|---|
| Inbox | Handed over conversations waiting for a person |
| Knowledge | Unanswered questions and sync status |
| Analytics | Volume, topics and how many were resolved |
| Leads | New leads and whether they reached your CRM |

How does an AI chatbot for a website work?
It reads your website, files and notes into a searchable knowledge base. When a visitor asks something, it finds the matching passages and a language model writes a short answer from those passages only, with links to the pages it used.
How long does setup take?
Reading a typical small business site takes a few minutes, and the design and install steps take a few more. Larger sites keep syncing in the background while you design the widget.
Do I need to prepare training data?
No. The bot learns from what you already published. Most teams add a handful of documents that are not on the site, such as a price list or an internal FAQ, and that is all.
What if my site changes after setup?
The bot re-reads your site weekly on Site and daily on Business and up. You can also press Re-sync or add a single page the moment something changes.
Can I test the bot before it goes live?
Yes. Each bot has a test chat in the panel where you can ask your own questions and check the sources it cites before you paste the script tag on your website.
Do step one right now
Enter your website address. The demo reads your pages and lets you ask it questions, no account needed.
