AI chatbot actions that finish the task

Actions let your website chatbot open a ticket, save a lead to your CRM, book a meeting, call your API or look up a customer while the visitor is still in the chat. You choose which ones each bot may run, and every call is logged.

See the five actions

Included on Business, Multi site and Agency.

Five actions, each set up with a short form

No code for the first four. For your own API you paste an address and name the parameters the bot should collect.

Create ticket

A complaint, a damaged item or a billing question becomes a ticket in your panel inbox, with the visitor email and a short summary. Add a helpdesk webhook and the same ticket is posted to your support tool as well.

Collects: email, short summary of the issue

Save lead to CRM

Write your qualifying questions, one per line. The bot works them into the chat naturally and saves the answers to HubSpot, Pipedrive, a webhook or the Leads page in the panel.

Collects: email, name and your qualifying questions

Book a meeting

When a visitor wants to talk, the bot offers your Cal.com or Calendly page as a button, with the name and email it already knows filled in. The visitor picks a slot without retyping anything.

Collects: name and email when given

Call your API

Any HTTPS endpoint, GET or POST, with headers you set. Put parameters in the address like {order_number} and describe them. Typical uses are order status, stock, delivery slots and appointment availability.

Collects: the parameters you define

Look up customer

Fetches the customer record from your API by email, so the bot can answer with the visitor's own plan, renewal date or open orders instead of general text.

Collects: customer email

It asks before it acts

An action never runs on a guess. The bot reads your rule for when to use it and checks that every required detail is known.

StepWhat happens
1. MatchThe question matches the When to use it line of an action you enabled.
2. CollectMissing required details are asked for in the chat, one at a time.
3. RunThe call goes out with an 8 second timeout, only to public internet addresses, never into a private network.
4. ConfirmThe visitor sees a result card: ticket number, saved details, calendar button or the data found.
5. LogInput, result, status and duration are written to the action log.

A record of every call it makes

The action log is what makes an AI agent safe to run on a business website. You can always see what it did, with which input and how long it took.

  • Test runs from the panel are marked test and do not use your action calls
  • Failed calls show the status code your system returned
  • Tokens and API keys are stored encrypted
  • Each action can be switched off without deleting it

Questions about actions

What runs, when, and what you see afterwards.

What are AI chatbot actions?

Actions let the chatbot do a task in your systems during the conversation instead of only answering. ChatBotWidget can create a ticket, save a lead to your CRM, offer a booking link, call your own API, for example for order status, and look up a customer by email.

How does the bot know when to run an action?

Each action has a short line you write called When to use it, for example when the visitor asks where their order is. The bot reads that line, and it runs the action only once every required detail is known from the conversation.

What if the visitor has not given the details yet?

The bot asks for what is missing, one question at a time, such as the order number or an email address. It does not call your system with half the data and it never invents a value.

Which CRMs and calendars work?

Leads can go to HubSpot, Pipedrive, any webhook or simply the Leads page in the panel. Booking works with a Cal.com or Calendly page, and the visitor gets the link with name and email filled in.

What happens if my API is down?

Each call has an 8 second timeout. If it fails, the visitor is told a team member will follow up, and the failure is written to the action log with the status code your system returned, so you can see exactly what broke.

Which plans include actions?

Business, Multi site and Agency. Business includes 1,500 action calls a month, Multi site 4,500 and Agency 12,000. The Site plan answers and hands off but runs no actions.
